One of Braden Fiske’s best traits coming out of Florida State was his agility. For a player his size (6-foot-4, 291 pounds), he moves remarkably well and tested as the most athletic defensive tackle at the 2024 NFL combine.
His foot speed is extremely impressive, which allows him to beat blockers at the offensive line and turn the corner when rushing outside against a tackle. No one can match Aaron Donald’s quickness as a defensive tackle, but Fiske is remarkably agile – particularly for a rookie who hasn’t even gotten his feet wet in the NFL yet.
As training camp approaches, Fiske is getting himself in shape and ensuring he’s ready for the grind of the summer. In a recent workout video of the rookie defensive tackle, he shows off his foot speed by going through multiple drills and it’s eye-popping.
Frontal plane speed is important for all positions. Being explosive off the edges of your feet allows you to maximize lateral speed. This was a great a session with LA Rams D-Tackle Braden Fiske with lateral movement as the focus. pic.twitter.com/oPQ6m7tLYj

Fiske will be competing with Kobie Turner, Bobby Brown III, Tyler Davis and the Rams’ other defensive linemen for playing time this season, though it’s hard to imagine him not being a starter early in the year.
