How good has the Los Angeles Rams’ rookie class been this year? The NFL hands out Rookie of the Week honors after each week and Rams players have won the award half the time this season.
Puka Nacua won it in Weeks 2 and 4, and now Byron Young has added the award to his resume. He was named the NFL’s Pepsi Rookie of the Week for his performance on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.
In that 26-9 win, he recorded six tackles, one sack, two quarterback hits and a forced fumble. The other rookies he beat out in Week 6 were C.J. Stroud, Julius Brents, Michael Mayer, Zay Flowers and Devon Witherspoon.

Young has been a stud for the Rams all season, leading all rookie in pressures and quarterback hits. He wasn’t a first-rounder, either. The Rams landed him in the third round and he already looks like a steal.
It’s rare for rookie edge rushers to have such an immediate impact, let alone as a third-round pick.
