In Baker Mayfield’s first game with the Rams, he took the field under the translucent roof at SoFi Stadium, playing in near-perfect conditions in Southern California. His second game with Los Angeles will feel much different.
He and the Rams are in Green Bay to face the Packers tonight where the temperature at kickoff is expected to be 16 degrees – the Rams’ coldest game in 30 years. Unfortunately, the Rams couldn’t get proper cleats for Mayfield in time for tonight’s game, so they had to call an audible.
They painted his orange studded cleats from his days with the Browns blue and white to match their uniform set, so he’ll match the rest of his teammates.
Rams didn’t have the proper seven-stud cleats in stock for Baker Mayfield. So they painted his orange Cleveland cleats blue and white.

Hey, whatever works. Traction is more important than looks, and wearing the cleats he wore last week on SoFi Stadium’s turf won’t work on the frozen field at Lambeau.
And it’s not like the Rams scribbled on his shoes with marker. You probably won’t be able to tell they’re painted.
