RAIPUR: A minor boy who got engaged with a girl, murdered his former girlfriend when the latter started pressurizing him for marriage, in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district of Chhattisgarh. The couple also tried to make it look like a suicide, by hanging her body at a factory site. Police have arrested both of them.
Police said that the incident took place in a village in Marwahi region where a 17-year-old girl had left home on her bi-cycle on June 9 and never returned.
Her parents reported missing and her body was found hanging on a factory premises on June 12 in neighbouring village of Dhanpur.
Police found the hanging suspicious as girl’s legs were touching the ground and other dissimilarities with the cases of hanging. The autopsy report revealed that she was strangled to death.
Police in their investigations found that the girl was in relationship with a minor boy of her age who got engaged with another girl and the ex-girlfriedn had been chasing the boy for dumping his fiancé.
On June 9, she had gone to meet the boy to put pressure him and plead not to give up on her.
The boy confessed to police that the deceased was his first girlfriend and she was forcing him to either marry her or kill her, so he strangled her to death.
He took help of his fiancé in “fixing” the body and she assisted him in dragging the body to nearby factory where they made it appear like she hanged herself.
The juvenile, had hidden her cycle and also threw the sim of her mobile phone.
Police have seized the phone and her cycle and the duo was detained.
