Police officers, especially railway police officers, often bear the title of being rude to the travellers. They are mostly seen lashing out at the travelers for creating a ruckus in the train. But that's where Officer Santhosh Jaybhaye stands out. Along with fulfilling his duties well, the officer also makes sure he shares some valuable insights with people around him. The officer proves that women's safety and respect for women should be taught, and it is the duty of every man to make sure the same is done.
A lesson from the general compartment
One of his Instagram videosis making rounds, in which the officer is seen schooling the travellers on the importance of respecting a woman.
In the video shot in the general compartment of a train, the officer spots a woman sitting on the floor holding three of her daughters. Soon, the officer asks the cameraman to shoot the family as well as the seat where a bag is kept.
'Will you do this to your sister?'
"There is enough space in the general compartment. But you people are so stubborn that you will not give consideration to this woman. What if it were her sister in her place? Your sister is sitting on the floor with her kids. You should slap yourselves for doing this. What will the woman be thinking of you all? Wont she be thinking whether people are good or bad? Why do you all want to be the bad people? If there is a chance, please accommodate others," he says in the video.
Further, the officer is seen making space for the woman and her daughters. He also makes sure that both the woman and the kids are comfortable in their seats.
Soon after the video is out, praises are pouring in for the police officer for his thoughtful gesture. People are seen calling him the real police officer who is giving the much-needed civic sense to the public.
