Raiders get their number one receiver back at practice

After missing the past couple weeks with an ankle injury, Jakobi Meyers will take the practice Wednesday. This according to head coach Antonio Pierce. This opens up the possibility that Meyers could return to the lineup when the Chiefs come to town on Sunday.

With both Meyers and Davante Adams not in the lineup the past couple weeks, the Raiders offense struggled to get any kind of significant production from the wide receiver position.

Adams is now in New York, so the significance of having Meyers back can’t be overstated. He is the closest thing this team has to a number one receiver.

Without him, fellow starter Tre Tucker had difficulty getting open. He was consistently facing double teams down the field which led to just three catches for 36 yards over the past two weeks combined.

DJ Turner got the start in the slot, but the other outside receiver spot was shared by practice squad call ups Alex Bachman and Kristian Wilkerson. Neither of whom had a target in the loss to the Rams last Sunday.
