According to NFL reporter Doug Kyed via Dov Kleiman, former Pittsburgh Steelers inside linebacker Robert Spillane has agreed to terms with the Las Vegas Raiders. It’s a two-year contract worth $9 million with $4 million of that guaranteed.
All Spillane ever did while he was with the Steelers was produce when given the opportunity. In 2022, Spillane started only five games but still found a way to be fourth on the team in tackles with 79. Spillane was a consummate professional and it never felt like the team really wanted him. With Devin Bush as a free agent, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Spillane would re-sign but he instead gets an opportunity to start with the Raiders.
Spillane started his career as an undrafted free agent out of Western Michigan. He played 2018 with the Tennessee Titans but soon found a home with Pittsburgh. Over the last four seasons, Spillane started 16 games and had 191 total tackles.
