Can the Raiders select their quarterback of the future and improve the defense at the same time? That is one of the tasks that Dave Ziegler might try to accomplish this weekend during the NFL Draft.
But what would a draft look like with a quarterback in Round 1? In a recent mock draft by Matt Miller of ESPN, he completed a seven-round mock draft ahead of Thursday. And the draft couldn’t have gone much better for Las Vegas.
Here is the full haul for the Raiders via Miller’s mock draft:
No. 7: Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida
No. 38: Bryan Bresee, DT, Clemson
No. 70: Cam Smith, CB, South Carolina
No. 100: Anthony Bradford, G, LSU
No. 109: Davis Allen, TE, Clemson
No. 141: Elijah Higgins, WR, Stanford
No. 144: Dee Winters, ILB, TCU
No. 174: Evan Hull, RB, Northwestern
No. 204: Juice Scruggs, C, Penn State
No. 214: Mekhi Blackmon, CB, USC
No. 220: Brandon Joseph, S, Notre Dame
No. 231: Atonio Mafi, G, UCLA
Richardson might be the most talented quarterback in the draft, but it gets even more interesting after that. Bresee and Smith could both start right away on defense for the Raiders, while Bradford could compete for the right guard spot.
If the draft wound up going this way for the Raiders, it would be absolutely fantastic weekend for the Silver and Black. This would instantly improve both sides of the ball for the Raiders while adding a franchise quarterback with incredible upside.
