Raheem Sterling 'makes decision' on his future and more Man City transfer rumours

Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling is 'considering' leaving the club on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of next season.

That is according to a report by the Mirror, who claim that the England international is keen to 'weigh up offers' from clubs as a free agent. He has been heavily linked with leaving City this summer ahead of the transfer window officially opening in less than a week's time.

Concerns have been raised about the winger's future at the club following the addition of Erling Haaland. Sterling has played both through the middle and out wide for City, meaning the Norwegian's addition to the squad will have a knock-on effect on his role.

As Haaland is poised to become City's out-and-out No.9, it means that Sterling will be competing for places out wide with the likes of Phil Foden and Jack Grealish, who have both played as a false-nine themselves this season. Arsenal and Chelsea have been heavily linked with his signature, but Sterling is seemingly keen to see out his contract at the Etihad Stadium.

Despite concerns about his game time being raised, the winger still managed to rack up 47 appearances this season, chipping in with 17 goals and nine assists along the way. He has been a trusted member of Pep Guardiola's squad in recent seasons and still believes he has a part to play.

Meanwhile, Premier League newcomers Nottingham Forest are 'tracking' City defender Issa Kabore, a report by Nottinghamshire Live states. Forest brought their 23-year exile from the top-flight of English football to an end last weekend, beating Huddersfield Town in the Championship play-off final at Wembley, and are keen to start putting plans in place for next term.

Kabore, who joined City from Belgian outfit KV Mechelen back in July 2020, has spent this season on loan at French outfit Troyes, who are the Blues' sister club. He made a telling impression while on loan at the Ligue 1 outfit, producing several eye-catching displays.

He also enjoyed a stellar period on the international stage with Burkina Faso, helping them reach the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations. He won the Young Player of the Tournament award after claiming three assists.

The 21-year-old, who is yet to make his senior debut for City, could be the ideal alternative to Djed Spence for Forest this summer. The wing-back spent this season on loan at the City Ground from Middlesbrough.
