Under-fire ref Willie Collum assumed centre stage after his display at Easter Road and some Rangers fans want the whistler charged for bringing the game into disrepute. Two penalty decisions and red cards for John Lundstram and Alfredo Morelos as the Light Blues lost to Hibs triggered a Hotline furore.
Jimmy Strangers, Tranent, said: "Collum should never be allowed anywhere near another Rangers match. This guy ruined a very competitive game between two teams with his disgraceful red cards. It is time the SFA got rid of Collum, Kevin Clancy and Nick Walsh before they do any more damage to Scottish football. Collum should be charged with bringing the game into disrepute as his red cards changed the result of the game."
Alan McPherson, Cullen Moray, said: "Being an Aberdeen fan, I have zero love for either of the Old Firm and I believe that they benefit from dodgy decisions by referees. Giovanni Van Bronckhorst and his followers may realise how the rest of us feel after Willie Collum’s red cards in the Hibs game. There’s no excuse for Morellos and Lundstram's foul was no more than a yellow. It appears there were numerous dodgy refereeing decisions all over Scotland at the weekend and some say that VAR will make a difference but I have grave doubts about our incompetent officials being in charge of this technology."
Forbes McGarva, Doncaster, said: "Get VAR in now, why do we have to wait until part of the way through the season? How does Collum get games in the Scottish Premiership? He has been dumped from European games because of poor performance and we need to do the same in Scotland. He always makes the game about him and can't wait to get his red cards out. I thought referees were supposed to manage the game and only display cards when it is the last option."
Jim Melrose, Edinburgh, said: "We will hear the usual moaning and attempts to put pressure on referees from Rangers fans but the truth is they have benefited by refereeing mistakes again. If both penalty calls are given correctly and a yellow given for Lundstram's tackle then Hibs win that game. They were the better team with two full teams on the park and none of these Rangers signings look up to much."
Robert McEwan, Mount Vernon, said: "The Rangers players must be raging at all of the running and defending they had to do because of the behaviour of Lundstram and Morelos. What happened against Hibs could be detrimental to their progress on Wednesday against PSV."
Frank McFerran, Carrickfergus, said: "Rangers should just sell Morelos and bring young Zak Lovelace into the team and persevere with him as he’ll come good. Morelos will not change and he’ll cost Rangers points and games."
Gary Stevenson, Newtonhill, said: "Morelos must be sold now and never wear the Light Blue jersey again. No more chances. He was out for five months and during that time made no effort to get fit, sign a new contract or even learn to speak English. Rangers need a replacement however Morelos should be made to train on his own until he is moved on. He will regret his actions for the rest of his life when he realises just how big Glasgow Rangers are."
Brian Quinn, Paisley, said: "I am worried about the players the manager has brought in this year, Antonio Colak brings nothing to the party other than a decent finish and Tom Lawrence was so poor once again. Ben Davies and Ridvan Yilmaz are not physical enough for the Scottish game which some suspected from reports and video clips before they came to the club.
Kevin Kean, Inchinnan, said: "Van Bronckhorst is struggling, he has an unhappy batch in his squad in Morelos, Fashion Sakala, Ryan Jack, Glen Kamara, Yilmaz. Kemar Roofe, Filip Helander and Ryan Kent are also awful so there's no way past PSV now."
And finally... Alan Lough, Dunbar, said: "Monday night football is Manchester United against Liverpool and the outcome is already crystal clear before the match even takes place. It's just a case of how many goals will be scored against the comedy show that United currently are."
