Rag 'n' Bone Man pulls out of Cardiff Depot in the Castle show due to illness

Popular musician Rag 'n' Bone Man has pulled out of his performance in Cardiff on Saturday due to ill health. The Human singer was due to play at Depot in the Castle on the evening of July 9 at Cardiff Castle.

But in a statement on his social media on Saturday afternoon he said: "So sorry to say that I am still too unwell to play Depot in the Castle in Cardiff tonight. I'm gutted but have to follow doctors orders. Big love to you all."

The organisers have said they are "gutted" that he has had to pull out but have announced that he will be replaced by Craig David's TS5. In a statement they said: "The Depot in the Castle team are sad to announce that Rag 'n' Bone Man has been taken off the line-up for today's festival due to suffering from a throat infection, following strict doctor's orders. Understandably we are gutted. The whole team wishes him a speedy recovery.

"Never ones to let the party go down our team have worked extremely hard and pulled out all the stops to secure a brilliant last-minute replacement. We are delighted to confirm that the headline slot will instead be filled by Craig David's TS5."

Sets by Faithless, Melanie C, and Toploader were still scheduled to go ahead as planned alongside performances by Lola Young, Alfie Templeman, and Gracey. The organisers continued: "We have poured our blood and tears into this weekend and we can't wait to party with you under the sunny skies at the castle. Thanks as ever for your continued support."
