The 22-time Grand Slam champion has enjoyed yet another incredible year so far, winning the Melbourne Summer Set before following up with victories at both the Australian and Mexican Open.
After injury worries, the French Open was the next to conquer and the 36-year-old was at least able to prepare for this year’s tournament at an exhibition event.
Still, Nadal has not been in the Wimbledon final since 2011 and is facing a man to have burst onto the scene this year. Cerundolo reached the semi-finals at the Miami Open and can approach his debut in SW19 relatively free of pressure.

Nadal vs Cerundolo is the second match scheduled for Centre Court on Tuesday afternoon, following Iga Swiatek’s first-round meeting with Jana Fett, which will begin at 1.30pm BST.
