The hilarious moment Radio 1 DJ Greg James surprised a ‘fan’ by knowing her name onboard an Edinburgh train has been caught on camera.
The comedian was sitting alongside passenger Jane Mcquillen in the LNER first class carriage when he received a tweet from her daughter on Sunday evening.
Colleen wrote: “My mum thinks she’s sat next to you on a train from Edinburgh right now so if you could confirm that would be amazing.
“Her name is Jane and she’s just had a white wine and says you are on red.”
The funnyman grabbed his phone and started recording, showing the initial message followed by a shot of his wine glass.
He then points the camera towards Jane, who is looking at her phone, and asks: “Are you Jane?”
The commuter looks somewhat shocked and concerned as she confirms she is and asks why.
James then shows her Colleen’s message on his laptop and Jane laughs: “That’s my daughter.”
The radio presenter shared the clip on Twitter with fan’s howling at Jane’s reaction.
One wrote: “Ha ha ha! This is brilliant. Bet she didn’t think Mum would get some legendary Greg James camera zooming.”
Another said: “This is why Greg James is a national treasure!”
A third wrote: “Omggggg. It’s my aunty Jane!!!”
While a fourth added: “Content for the morning’s show.”
Another passenger, who filmed the interaction, has inadvertently also become a star with Twitter users demanding to see her footage.
One said: “I wanna see the vid from the woman sat behind Jane filming this.”
