A murder probe has been launched in Salford this evening (May 5) after police were called to reports of a disturbance on Seedley Road at around 4pm.
Officers say a man was found injured and was rushed to hospital but was later sadly pronounced dead. A 52-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police launched a murder probe and continued investigations at the scene as darkness descended on what residents said was usually a 'quiet' Salford estate. Residents huddles on street corners and watched tactical aid unit (TAU) and forensic officers pace the streets, as children played against the backdrop of police tape.

"It's absolutely horrible," one woman told the Manchester Evening News as she watched the scene from her front door. "This estate is full of children. Who would do something like that here?"
Another man described how he had seen the victim collapse literally outside his front door, before he was treated by paramedics. "You just don't expect this to happen literally on your doorstep," he said. "I have lived here since 2008 and crime in the surrounding area has got worse. Lots of dodgy things go on around here."
But others said they felt the estate was usually 'quiet'. One woman, who said she had lived on the estate her whole life, told the M.E.N. she had noticed police walking up and down the street in the late afternoon.
"I couldn't believe it," she said. "Nothing like that has ever happened here."
A couple living around the corner from Seedley Road also said they were shocked by the days events. "It's usually quiet here," they said.
"Sometimes the kids get a bit noisy at the weekends, but nothing like this. You just don't want it on your doorstep."
