Quentin Tarantino brands Peppa Pig the ‘greatest British import of this decade’

Quentin Taratino has revealed he is a fan of Peppa Pig.

The Pulp Fiction director recently sang the praises of the popular cartoon TV series, which he recently started watching with his two-year-old son Leo.

In a new interview, the filmmaker said that the first animated film his toddler watched was Despicable Me Part 2, which was “a more consuming experience than, say, Peppa Pig."

He added to Empire: “I actually do like Peppa Pig. I watch it a lot. I’ll say it – Peppa Pig is the greatest British import of this decade.”

Peppa Pig first hit screens in the UK in 2004 and was aired in the US the following year.

It’s since become one of the world’s most popular children’s cartoon shows broadcast in over 180 countries and has spawned a huge franchise, which includes a collection of merchandise, including books, toys and clothes.

In 2011 Peppa Pig World - a family friendly theme park in Hampshire, England - was opened.

Tarantino, 59, is likely to have a lot more Peppa Pig viewing to come as he and his Israeli singer wife Daniella welcomed their second child over the weekend.

The pair shared the news with People magazine in a statement that read: "Daniella and Quentin Tarantino are happy to announce that Daniella gave birth to their baby girl on July 2, 2022, a little sister to Leo, their first child.".

The couple met in 2009 when Tarantino was promoting his hit film Inglourious Basterds in Israel. They started dating soon after and went on to marry in 2018. The two welcomed Leo in February 2020 making Tarantino a father for the first time at age 56.
