Almost 30 people have been charged with more than 180 offences in a "knockout blow" to a multimillion-dollar drug syndicate in Brisbane.
Queensland Police detectives say more than 25 couriers were trafficking methamphetamine supplied by a 35-year-old man in Upper Mount Gravatt.
The syndicate allegedly sold an estimated $50m worth of drugs in one year.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ken Rogers said it was a sophisticated operation where each person had been designated a specific role.
"Those roles varied - whether it be the actual selling of the drug itself, organising of encrypted apps or the managing of the money," he told reporters on Tuesday.
"We're talking millions of dollars worth of drugs being sold here. So that in itself requires a specific sophisticated level of business."
Detectives seized 18kg of the drug ice, two firearms, cocaine, ketamine and about $556,000 in cash over their 14-month operation.
Last month, police found about 6kg of ice, $330,000 in cash, a commercial money counter, cocaine and a mobile device during the search of a vehicle allegedly used by the syndicate.
Two weeks later detectives searching bushland near Kholo, northwest of Brisbane found a demountable lab used to make drugs and about 12kg of methamphetamine.
Det Sen Sgt Rogers said some of the drugs had been imported to Australia and chemicals used to make the drugs were also sourced from interstate.
"A number of the drugs were being sourced from overseas as well as chemicals used to produce the drugs were being brought into Sydney, NSW and then transported up to here where it was either on sold or the chemicals used to produce locally and then distributed so throughout the north and south side of Brisbane," he said.
"Operation Tango Balboa has delivered a knockout blow to what we consider a highly sophisticated operation."
A 61-year-old man has been charged with a string of drug-related offences including trafficking, possessing dangerous drugs and receiving or possessing property obtained from trafficking.
Five other people between the ages of 28 and 40 have all been charged with similar drug-related offences.
All have faced Brisbane Magistrates Court and will appear again later in February and March.
