Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani will visit Tehran on Thursday to meet with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian.
On Tuesday, Al Thani held talks with Iran's Foreign Minister over the phone.
According to Qatar’s official news agency QNA, the two diplomats reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways of enhancing them in various fields.
They also discussed the “latest regional developments and issues of mutual concern."
Al-Thani earlier spoke over the phone with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
They highlighted the ongoing talks in Vienna with Western powers and Iran aimed at reviving the historic 2015 nuclear accord.
The two officials also tapped into the latest developments in Afghanistan and reviewed the strategic bilateral ties.
