Punjanb: 1,766 polling stations for 15.6 lakh voters in Sangrur

PATIALA: Following the announcement of bypolls for Sangrur Lok Sabha seat, Sangrur returning officer-cum-deputy commissioner Jitendra Jorwal issued instructions to all concerned departments regarding polling to be held on June 23.

Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency consists of nine assembly segments of three different districts, having 1,766 polling stations for 15,66,390 eligible voters.

Jorwal said after the implementation of the model code of conduct, a district control room has been set up in Sangrur which would be operational 24x7 till the completion of the entire election process. Any complaint regarding violation of the model code can be registered on this control room and voters could also get any information from the same number - 01672-230726.

"Apart from this, complaints could be registered through WhatsApp number 70096-24406 and e-mail ids sangrurcvigil@gmail.com and etsan@punjab.gov.in. A control room has also been set up in every assembly constituency of the district. Nine flying squads will work in each assembly segment," added Jorwal.
