Pimpri Chinchwad civic body hikes fines for illegal trash disposal by up to 200%

PIMPRI CHINCHWAD: Taking a tough stand against illegal disposal of garbage within the civic limits, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation on Tuesday decided to increase the penalty for littering on roads or in public places by over 200 times for some violations hoping it would act as a deterrent.

The current penalty for dumping garbage by truck is Rs180. Soon, the offenders would be charged Rs50,000.
