PUNE: The Bhosari MIDC police on Sunday arrested a 40-year-old man from Rajgurunagar on the charge of attacking a police constable when the policeman acted against him for creating ruckus on a public road under the influence of alcohol.
An officer from the Bhosari MIDC police said the drunk man was creating ruckus on a road in Moshi on Sunday around 12.30pm. “Police constable Birappa Bansode noticed the man when he was harassing a pedestrian. The suspect beat Bansode when the constable reprimanded him,” said the officer.
The officer added that Bansode took the drunk man into custody and carried him to the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital for a medical checkup. “The man started creating ruckus at the hospital as well. He was abusing the constable and threatened to kill his family members if the police registered any case against him,” said the officer.
