Pune Municipal Corporation, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation step up surveillance as dengue cases rise

PUNE: A spurt in dengue cases in the Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR) has prompted the municipal corporations in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad to intensify surveillance against vector-borne diseases.

Experts attributed the spike in cases to rain and stagnant water inside homes as well as in public spaces.
