PUNE: Divisional commissioner Saurabh Rao on Monday said the district had the infrastructure of nearly 82,000 beds ready but only 43,000 were activated for use currently, stressing that the jumbo Covid care hubs could be rebuilt in four weeks if there was a need in future.
“We have created more infrastructure than the two jumbo units in the last one year in hospitals. Our per million population bed availability is among the highest. If there is a sudden need for the jumbo hubs in future, the administration is adept in reinstalling them,” Rao, the Pune divisional commissioner, said.
