PUNE: Eighty-seven of the total 173 seats in the Pune municipal limits have been reserved for women candidates, following Tuesday's draw of lots.
"The citizens can now send their suggestions and objections on these reservations. They can approach ward offices or PMC election office at Savarkar Bhavan in Shivajinagar to submit their views. The list will be declared after the hearing," senior PMC official Yashwant Mane said.
The seats in Yerawada, Lohegaon, Ramtekadi, Kondhwa, Market Yard, Uruli Devachi, Pune station, Wanowrie, Koregaon Park, Upper Indiranagar, Sangamwadi and Kharadi / Wagholi wards have been reserved for women of scheduled castes. The seat in Dhanori- Vishrantwadi has been reserved for women of scheduled tribes.
