Pulitzer Prize winner Sanna Irshad Mattoo was stopped at the Delhi airport as she was about to board a flight to France on Saturday. The Kashmiri photojournalist was flying out for a book launch and photography exhibition as one of the 10 winners of the Serendipity Arles Grant.
Mattoo said on Twitter that despite securing a visa she was stopped at the immigration desk. She was told she would not be able to travel internationally but was not given a reason as to why.
Mattoo was among the winners of this year’s Pulitzer Prize for feature photography. She was awarded for her work documenting the second wave of Covid in India.
