Public told NOT to leave homes to join Queen queue with wait time of 14 hours

People have been warned not to set off from their homes to join the queue for the Queen’s lying in state, as it is due to close later.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) said in a statement: “A decision will be taken today on when entry to the queue for Her Majesty The Queen’s lying in state will close as it reaches final capacity.
