Pub's terse response to complaint over long wait for carvery with no roast potatoes

A pub has issued a terse five-word response after receiving a complaint from a customer that says they had to wait 15-minutes to pick up a carvery - which they claim didn't even have roast potatoes. The reviewer, called Nikki, shared their issue after visiting the The White Swan in Wythall last month, when she still had to wait for her ordered carvery despite ordering ahead, reports Birmingham Live.

Despite numerous positive reviews for the establishment, Nikki said: "'you can get far better for your money elsewhere'. Nikki started their Google review by saying: "Carvery collection - don't bother."

"Shocking service. Ordered a carvery for collection which by definition should mean you show up at the collection time and ‘collect’ your order. Not be told to join the carvery queue, wait 15 minutes only to be given a flimsy plastic container with the last fatty bits of beef left from a joint and point blank refusal to change it for a fresh joint, the container to be covered by a flimsy bit of cling film and handed to you with a container to go and get your own gravy - that’s it.

"No bag to transport your ‘collection’, food isn’t even in a proper leak/spill proof container of some sort, oh and the roast potatoes that were paid for were missing. Terrible place."

The owner of the pub responded to Nikki's critical review, simply saying: "Thank you for your review." Despite her negative thoughts on her experience, others are far more positive, with one saying: "I always have the carvery. Excellent service."

Another reviewer said: "Carvery lunch for a party of 19 ex-works colleagues. Party size confirmed in advance with the manager (Chris). Area set aside for us, good choice at the carvery and food excellent value for money."
