Some people can spend hours weighing the pros and cons of a decision. Others seem to know almost immediately what they should do. They might meet someone and think, “I don't trust this person,” walk into a workplace and sense that something is wrong, or suddenly feel that a particular opportunity is worth pursuing, even when they cannot explain exactly why.
This tendency to always trust your gut feeling is often described as intuition. But psychology suggests that intuition is more complicated than simply having a mysterious sixth sense.
