Chelsea left Paris Saint-Germain fuming in the late stages of the January transfer window after a loan move for winger Hakim Ziyech collapsed.
The Blues and PSG, after spending all of transfer deadline day negotiating a move for the 29-year-old, finally reached an agreement with around an hour remaining of the window. However, not long after, football.london reported that Chelsea had not sent the right documentation to the Paris-based club for Ziyech and a deal collapsed.
Ziyech wanted to leave Chelsea all of last month following a summer of similar wishes from the Moroccan. The Blues were open to letting the former Ajax winger leave the club and would not stand in his way, but things became complicated on transfer deadline day, with Chelsea's focus perhaps on the Enzo Fernandez deal – which they managed to get over the line at a similar time to when the Ziyech deal fell through.
