Sony President and CEO Hiroki Totoki has confirmed that the multinational technology conglomerate has not yet finalised a formal launch date or pricing structure for the anticipated PlayStation 6 console.

Addressing investors and industry analysts during a corporate strategy presentation, Totoki cautioned that soaring global memory prices, heavily driven by competing artificial intelligence data centre demands, are creating unprecedented volatility across consumer hardware manufacturing.
