Manchester United fans seemed to find the funny side of Hannibal Mejbri’s antics while on the bench for Tunisia in their World Cup loss to Australia on Saturday.
The midfielder entered the tournament having racked up 15 appearances on loan at Birmingham where he has provided two assists and become somewhat of a fans' favourite. United fans remember him most for his explosive cameo appearance against Liverpool last season, in which he clattered Jordan Henderson and picked up a yellow card in the 4-0 loss.
He featured in the final day loss to Crystal Palace but took the decision to search for regular game time elsewhere this campaign, following Tahith Chong to the Blues after the attacker made a permanent move to St Andrew’s.

Hannibal has travelled to Qatar and came on as a substitute in Tunisia’s goalless draw with Denmark on Tuesday. However, he was left on the bench in Saturday’s loss to Australia, although that didn’t stop him from leaving his mark on the game.
Match-winner Mitchell Duke was felled by a challenge in the second half with the ball going out towards the Tunisia bench. Hannibal picked it up and threw the ball in the direction of Duke, hitting him on the head.
Despite Australian protests, the very apologetic 19-year-old got off with a stern warning from the referee. United supporters reacted to the incident on Twitter, a number of them laughing at his antics.
@Dominiho7: Hannibal knew exactly what he was doing there. Top lad.
@RunkeGlenn: Acting innocent when the referee came to speak to him then as he sat down on the bench he had a big smile on his face.
@JRCSport: Proper little s******** is that Hannibal, can't wait to see him playing for United when he finishes his loan at Birmingham.
@UnitedFancast: Hannibal throwing that ball at Dukes face is pretty funny.
@UnitedRS7: Chill Hannibal lad.
