Promising boxer, 16, who died in quarry during heatwave was 'one in a million son'

A teenage boy has died after getting into difficulties in the waters of a quarry as he cooled off during the heatwave.

Tributes have been paid to Jamie Lewin, 16, a promising young boxer who loved life, his heartbroken mum said.

He died at East Quarry near Wigan, Lancashire, making it three young people who have lost their lives there, with two previous teen deaths in 2015 and 1999.
