'Prolific' shoplifter banned from Hyde town centre after being convicted of theft and assault

A ‘prolific’ shoplifter has been banned from Hyde town centre after being convicted of theft and assault.

Megan Barnes, 27, of Taylor Street, Hyde, was convicted of two thefts and an assault at Tameside Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday morning (March 1).

Barnes was given a suspended prison sentence and a two-year criminal behaviour order.
