Pro-Palestine activist spared jail after scaling Big Ben in 17-hour protest

A pro-Palestine protester who caused serious disruption by climbing Big Ben and sitting on the London landmark for 17 hours has been given a suspended prison sentence.

Daniel Day, 30, triggered a huge emergency services response and caused road closures around Westminster when he scaled the Elizabeth Tower on March 8, 2025.
