If Pro Football Focus is correct, Ohio State Football will not be playing in the final four team College Football Playoff.
Two of their analysts, Max Chadwick and Trevor Sikkema, have only one current Big Ten school making the final four, Michigan. Chadwick has a future conference school also getting in; USC is his No. 4 seed.
Both believe Georgia will make it again although in different seeds, and both are convinced Florida State is back and will be a part of the fun. Sikkema has LSU as his fourth, completing both of their participants. They also agree on their champion, a school that hasn’t won a bowl game since 2015 and has just five since 2000.
It’s hard to argue with them at this point of the year; the Buckeyes are a bit of unknown to their 2023 season. With big-time questions at quarterback and on the defense as a whole, they could be in for a “down” year.

The “down’ season would still see 10-plus wins for Ohio State, it’s just that it would be a season without a playoff appearance. However, it’s going to be hard to bet against Ryan Day with those question marks, so most likely, this isn’t what will happen. Or at least, that’s our opinion.
