A close friend of the late Lisa Marie Presley has slammed the star's mum Priscilla Presley for contesting her daughter's will, branding the decision a "money grab".
Lisa Marie's trust is being challenged by Priscilla, who claims she has been pushed out and replaced because of a 2016 amendment.
Legal documents have revealed that Priscilla, 77, and Lisa Marie's former business manager Barry Siegel have been removed as trust mangers.
Instead, they were replaced by Lisa Marie's children Riley and Benjamin Keough. Benjamin sadly died in 2020 at the age of 27.
"It’s strictly a money grab. She had no relationship with Priscilla, [her ex-husband] Michael Lockwood or her half-brother [Navarone Garibaldi]," Lisa Marie's friend said.
The source told Page Six that Michael, who went through a bitter divorce with Lisa Marie, had not actually been invited to the singer's public memorial service but decided to attend anyway.
Another of Lisa Marie's friends has said she was "very clear" in her wishes for her trust to go to her children and slammed Priscilla for contesting it.
"Lisa's intent was very clear. Lisa really didn't feel that Priscilla was doing anything in her best interest," they said.
"Lisa lived her life authentically… She wouldn't remain quiet when she was being taken advantage of.
"At the end of the day, these are her wishes, and there's no question as to what her wishes were," Lisa Marie's friend told People.
The family conflict comes after Elvis Presley's only daughter Lisa Marie died earlier this month at the age of 54 after suffering two cardiac arrests.
Papers seen by the New York post, show that Priscilla is asking a judge to set aside a change made to Lisa Marie's trust which eliminates her as a trustee.
The document misspelled her mother's name and had a signature that appeared unusual, Priscilla's lawyers argue.
In a filing to the Los Angeles Superior Court, her lawyers said that she only became aware of the "purported 2016 amendment" after Lisa Marie's death.
Priscilla argues that the amendment was never delivered to her during her daughter's lifetime, as required by the will.
Her lawyers also argue that the amendment was neither witnessed nor notarised.
