New photos released of Highgrove House from the 1980s have been royal fans a rare insight into what life was like inside the property. You can make out how Prince Charles' country home in Gloucestershire was decorated and get a look inside.
Despite Charles and Camilla previously sharing glimpsing from inside their houses in the past, these new photos provided another new look inside the property that the royal couple use when they do not have any royal engagements in the capital.
Prince Charles originally bought the property in 1980 for £865,000 reports The Express. He lived there alongside his first wife Princess Diana and their two sons Prince William and Prince Harry.

The mansion features nine different bedrooms and six bathrooms. It has a renowned reputation for its beautiful decor and stunning gardens. These new images help show the extent of the decor inside.
Charles posed in the room in 1982, revealing cream walls and a cream patterned sofa with blue and green patterned cushions. On one side, there was a dark chestnut wood table with framed photos, a glass bowl and a cream desk lamp on top, as well as an additional wooden table positioned in front of a white sash window.
Later photos from 1991 also show Prince Charles in his office dressed in a suit while in the background it looks as if there is a blanketing of snow.
A photo of the living room was also unveiled from 1980 and shows the floral sofa with matching curtains and various separate armchairs dotted around the room. Another photo of the dining room revealed a large table with space for six guests and more floral curtains.
The family had their own swimming pool at the property and an exterior shot of the property also revealed that it was covered in climbing plants, while the front door was painted cream with a glass panel at the top.
It is believed that Charles and Camilla kept much of the same interiors as seen in the original photos, although the floral settee has been swapped for a more muted patterned version.
It was estimated in 2020 by Energy Helpline that the electricity bill for the Highgrove House estate costs £37,097 per year.
