Prince William was worried after royal guards were collapsing during the UK's recent heatwaves.
The Prince of Wales was reportedly shaken after three guards collapsed as he led the Colonel’s Review at Horse Guards Parade two weeks ago. Just one week later at the Trooping the Colour and the Order of the Garter ceremony, two more guards collapsed.
A source told The Mirror: “Prince William expressed concern and was later informed about their condition. He made it clear he is keen to see measures in place to support teams on parade.”
At the time of the Colonel's Review, William tweeted from his official Royal Twitter account: "A big thank you to every solider who took part in the Colonel's Review this morning in the heat. Difficult conditions but you all did a really good job (sic)."
At the Colonel’s Review 1,400 troopers carried out manoeuvres in wool tunics and bearskin hats.
This comes after William revealed he wants to bring ‘change and impact’ to his role of Prince of Wales ahead of Princess Diana's birthday on July 1. William is looking to end homelessness in numerous locations across the country with his upcoming projects, an issue close to her heart.
“Homelessness is an issue affecting every part of our society and William has a steely determination to get things done,” a source told the Daily Express. “He wants change and impact. He wants to use his platform for change. Homelessness is increasing and William is absolutely committed to helping resolve this issue.”
After his 41st birthday, William shared in his first interview with the Sunday Times last week that he will be launching a new five-year project tackling the issue. He also revealed that he has plans to build social housing to be built on his private estate, the 130,000-acre Duchy of Cornwall.
