A royal source has claimed that Prince Harry will be returning to the UK just weeks after his flying visit for King Charles’ Coronation on May 6.
The news comes as the Duke of Sussex confirmed he will skip the King’s Coronation concert to fly back to the US just hours after the ceremony.
Instead of attending the concert, due to take place at Windsor Castle on May 7, Harry will rush back to California to be with his family.
A royal source revealed: “After much back and forth, Harry said that he would be returning for the King’s Coronation but it will only be a fleeting visit.
“Organisers have been told Harry won’t be attending the concert with the rest of the Royal Family, which is a great shame as it will be such a spectacular event.” The Duke also has no plans to visit any of the charities he is involved with during his brief stay, palace sources said.
However Harry has told members of his family that he is planning to return to the UK later on in the year.
While details are scant about Harry’s planned return, a royal source did confirm his next visit is likely to take place in the summer meaning his next trip back to the UK could take place in just a few weeks' time.
It is not yet known whether he will be bringing wife Meghan, 41, Prince Archie, whose fourth birthday is on the same day as the Coronation, and Princess Lilibet, who is two in June.
But it is safe to assume this next trip will be less of a flying visit, with Harry potentially visiting more of the organisations he works with and catching up with pals on this side of the pond.
The Coronation will be the first time Harry has met the King, Queen Consort and Prince and Princess of Wales since savaging them in his Netflix series and explosive memoir Spare.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex performed their last Royal duties and relocated to California in 2020, moving into their Santa Barbara Home in July of that year. Since then their visits back to Britain have been few and far between.
The couple returned in June 2022 for their first official visit since leaving in order to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The next time they were seen publicly in the UK was in September after the Queen passed away, in a show of unity with brother William and his wife Kate, the couples greeted mourners outside Windsor Castle.
Prince Harry ’s most recent visit to the UK was just a few weeks ago, when he unexpectedly flew to the UK at the end of March for High Court proceedings against the publisher of the Daily Mail over allegations of illegal behaviour and phone-tapping.
Harry is one of seven high-profile people suing Associated Newspapers over alleged phone-tapping, others include Doreen Lawrence, the singer Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley.
During this latest visit Harry stayed at Frogmore Cottage, his home on the Windsor Estate, for the final time, after it was revealed Harry and Meghan had been "asked to vacate" it by Royals.
