Prince Harry's 'forgotten' stepbrother breaks silence on Coronation drama in blunt response

Prince Harry's often-forgotten stepbrother has finally weighed in on the Royal drama surrounding King Charles's Coronation. Tom Parker Bowles gave a very blunt seven-word response after being asked if his step-sibling had caused tensions, reports the Mirror.

Following weeks of speculation, it was finally confirmed last week that the Duke of Sussex would be attending the historical event on May 6 solo, whilst his wife Meghan Markle stays at home in California with their kids.

Meghan will be in the US with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as the kids weren't invited to the landmark event for being "too young" to attend the event, which also falls on the same day as Archie's fourth birthday.

It means Harry will be left to face the music solo, following growing tensions between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royals over recent months. His controversial Netflix documentary and bombshell memoir Spare made cutting allegations against the monarchy.

The confirmation of Harry's Coronation plans finally being solidified means that organisers can now eventually sign off arrangements for the big day held at Westminster Abbey. Appearing on The News Agents podcast, Queen Camilla's son Tom was asked if there had been a panic Harry and Meghan would not attend.

But he firmly told hosts Emily Maitlis and Jon Sopel: "Nothing to do with me at all." He added: "Though I did ask if Harry Kane was going as captain of England... My mother didn't know...

"I don't know if he's coming. But I haven't seen the list. But we, my son and I, are very concerned that we should have the captain of England coming to the Coronation. But that's just us."

In the same podcast, Tom hit back at claims Camilla played an "end game" to become Queen – saying she "just married the person she loved". He insisted: "I think change happens but I don’t care what anyone says – this wasn’t any sort of end game. She married the person she loved and this is what happened."

His remarks counter allegations by Harry, who branded his stepmother Camilla "dangerous" in Spare and wrote how she played "the long game", with a campaign aimed at marriage and "the crown". Asked if his mother will be anxious ahead of the coronation on May 6, Tom added it is "tough" to take on such a role during the ceremony but "she’s never complained".

"I think anyone would be anxious on an occasion of this sort of importance in terms of the historical. And yes, I think I’d be terrified if I had to sort of walk out wearing ancient robes…" he said. "She's 75, but you know, it’s tough to do it. But she’s never complained. You just do it. get on with it."

Asked if it is weird to think of Camilla as the Queen, Tom said: "Not really because she’s still our mother. I say 'our' but not the royal 'we', speaking for my sister and me. She's our mother."

Tom confirmed he will not be getting a title, adding: "You're not going to find us with great estates and being called the duke of whatever. No. That would be appalling."
