Prince Harry let his interviewer Tom Bradby squirm slightly during his bombshell interview, thanks to asking the journalist about his first sexual experience.
The Duke of Sussex, 38, and the ITV News star sat down to discuss the former royal's forthcoming memoir Spare, in which the dad-of-two details losing his virginity to an older woman.
Chatting with Tom during tonight's ITV special, Harry: The Interview, the former royal jokingly asks his interviewer if he wants to talk about losing his own virginity instead, as they discuss the saucy excerpt from Spare.
In the book, set to be officially released on Tuesday, Harry writes how he lost his virginity in a field behind a pub to an older woman who treated him like "a young stallion".
He recalls how the open-air tryst occurred when he was a student at Eton in 2001 - when he would have been 17 at the time - and describes the encounter as a "quick ride".
During the pre-recorded ITV interview aired this evening, Tom brings up the sexual experience, saying: "You know, there's you losing your virginity [in the book]. I think, you know… Sensitive viewers turn away now."
Harry then quips: "It’s four lines or something. If that."
Replying to Harry's defensive declaration, Tom continues to say: "Okay. Oh, I'm just scrubbing it from my memory still. But it's ok."
"We can talk about you losing your virginity, if you want?" Harry cheekily asks Tom amid the awkward exchange.
Laughing, Tom declines Harry's offer - asking "not to go there" - and changes topics to discuss the prince's experience with drugs like magic mushrooms and cocaine.
Writing about his first sexual experience in Spare, Harry doesn't identify the mysterious older woman who took his virginity.
"Inglorious episode," wrote Harry, as quoted by Page Six. "She liked horses, quite a lot, and treated me not unlike a young stallion."
"Quick ride, after which she’d smacked my rump and sent me to grace," he shared. "Among the many things about it that were wrong. It happened in a grassy field behind a busy pub."
Elsewhere during Harry's ITV interview with Tom, he admitted he wants his "father and brother back" amid their ongoing feud.
Filmed in California, where Harry now lives with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Harry: The Interview saw the Prince go into unprecedented depth and detail on life in and out of the royal family.
Harry's interviewer Tom has been closely associated with some of the biggest modern royal moments over recent years and has an exceptionally close bond with Harry these days.
While the former ITV royal correspondent was invited to the weddings of both Prince William and Harry, it seems his relationship with the Cambridges has soured since a rift between William and Harry emerged.
A royal insider claimed in March 2021 that "the friendship between William and Tom is very much over" because of the way the journalist covered Harry and Meghan's royal exit in early 2020.
