Prince Harry has explained why he has spoken out publicly against the royal family. The royal has come under fire from some people over the detailed interviews in which he gave intimate details of his family.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have spoken on shows including Oprah Winfrey, Netflix's Harry and Meghan and an ITV interview. Among allegations levied at the royals were claims of racism towards Meghan Markle and allegations Buckingham Palace purposely fed the UK press with stories about the couple.
A new book is also due to be published by the Duke, "Spare", in which it is reportedly claimed Prince William physically attacked his brother. According to The Guardian, the book, which is due out on January 10, also claims William called Meghan “difficult”, “rude” and “abrasive”.
But speaking in a trailer for an upcoming ITV programme Harry justifies his book. He told journalist Tom Bradby the reason behind his memoirs was because he doesn’t know “how staying silent is ever going to make things better”.
Mr Bradby, a former royal correspondent and current presenter of ITV News at Ten, is a friend of the Sussexes and has previously interviewed them for a documentary about their 2019 Africa tour. The show, called Harry: The Interview, will be broadcast on ITV1 and ITX at 9pm on January 8.
