The Invictus Games are set to return in September 2023, taking place in Dusseldorf, but the new trailer is not just for the sports fans as it shows a glimpse into Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's much examined relationship.
The official Twitter account for the Games launched a one minute 20 second video focused around a ping pong table. The moody black and white video opens on the empty table, highlighting the fact that ping pong is new to the Invictus games.
Male and female players then take to the table to battle it out in back to back matches, before the Duke of Sussex appears around halfway through.
He sets up to play against a blonde woman and gives her an encouraging nod as he crouches down to receive her serve. Harry misses the ball, smiles wide and steps away from the game, passing it on to another player with an encouraging handshake.
The tagline 'Be Part of It' then appears on screen as Harry walks away from the match before the hashtag 'a home for respect' covers the lingering image of the stadium.
This is not the last time we see the dad of two preparing for a ping pong match in his smart black top as in the final shot, Harry can be seen smiling at his opponent ready for a match. The camera pans to Meghan, who is dressed in a matching black polo top with her hair slicked back into a bun.
She smiles at her husband, nodding slightly, as they prepare to challenge each other on the ping pong table. Harry serves and the trailer cuts out, leaving fans wondering if the second bounce of the ball that can be heard is Meghan hitting it right back.
This video comes days before the pair are set to launch their Netflix documentary which will be airing on December 8, 2022. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are thought to have signed a deal worth around £88 million but are swiftly editing parts to reflect the passing of The Queen.
Tickets for the opening ceremony in Germany start from just €33 but at the Merkur Spiel-Arena a large number of seats seem to have already sold out.
