The PDC World Darts Championship will once again give revelers a chance to let loose over the festive period with thousands having already descended on Ally Pally.
Alongside the creative signs, outfits and chants, there is a hell of a lot of alcohol consumed with organisers predicting a hefty 750,000 pints would be sold over the 16-day tournament.
There have been some famous faces getting into the swing of things over the years, none more so than when Prince Harry made an appearance at the famous event.
Chairman of the Professional Darts Corporation Barry Hearn recalled a visit from the Duke of Sussex and his pals back in 2011, including ex-England rugby star Will Greenwood.
Long before he met Meghan Markle, Harry attended a night at Ally Pally with three of his friends from the army and made sure he followed the lead set by the rest of the crowd.
Hearn recalls himself and boxing promoter son Eddie joining the group in his autobiography 'My Life: Knockouts, Snooker, Bullseyes, Tight Lines and Sweet Deals'.
“My son Eddie and I joined them on a table of six and it was clear they were on a bender. I reckon 60 pints of lager went down and I didn’t have much of it," Hearn wrote.
Hearn claims Harry was just like "any ordinary bloke on a night out with his mates" but remembered royal protocol when he was called to give a wave by the adoring crowd inside Ally Pally.
The darts chief added: “At the end, Harry said they were off to a nightclub and would we like to come? ‘Not us,’ I said. ‘You guys are too dangerous.’”
Prince Harry returned again in 2014 but is not expected to make an appearance this time around as he continues his life away from the media spotlight.
Michael van Gerwen remains the favourite for this year's coveted prize after beginning his title quest with an easy win over Lewy Williams earlier this week.
