Previously known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Kate and William are now known as the Prince and Princess of Wales. Royals don't tend to have an official surname, but their children were known as George and Charlotte Cambridge for education and work purposes.
It was confirmed their new surname was confirmed as Wales. Their younger sibling, Louis, will also take on the new surname. George's full title is Prince George of Wales - his full name being George Alexander Louis.
George is now second in line to the throne, and will take up the position of king following Prince William's reign unless he chooses to abdicate or give up his royal duties before then. Charlotte is now Princess of Wales, her full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.
This is both a tribute to both her grandmother, Princess Diana of Wales and great grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. A new law passed by the late Queen, the Succession of the Crown Act, means Charlotte now has equal rights to the throne, despite her gender, making her third in line to the throne.
When Prince William becomes king, Charlotte will be known as Princess Royal, inheriting the title from Princess Anne. Louis is now Prince Louis of Wales - his full name being Louis Arthur Charles. He is fourth in line to the throne behind his sister Charlotte.
