Prince Andrew is a well-known face in the UK, but TV viewers saw him as they never have before tonight (Thursday). Channel 4 screened Prince Andrew: The Musical and fans were in stitches.
The show was an all-singing, all-dancing satirical biopic about Queen Elizabeth's third-born. Throughout seven original musical numbers it charted the rise and fall of the Duke of York.
The programme saw Andrew live through a period of being a war hero in the 1980s right up until the present day, when he is seen as something of a royal outcast. The musical addressed the damaging allegations made against the dad-of-two.
It also featured his some might say ill-advised Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis. The interview famously saw him reveal that he cannot sweat and that he dines at Woking's Pizza Express.
Jenasaurus @jenbean90 tweeted: "Prince Andrew The Musical: absolutely hilariously written. The West End musical style is just hilarious.
"There better be a live stage version at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2023 #princeandrewthemusical"
Hazel Stewart @hazelbagend said: "Enjoying Prince Andrew the Musical @Channel4. It is easy to listen to and right on the money politically."
Christopher Johnson @chrislesjohnson added: "Prince Andrew: The Musical works both as a work of TV comedy, and genuinely works as a musical. It's amazing we live in a country where something like this would be made. #C4PrinceAndrew"
