The Duke of York will not attend the Queen's Platinum Jubilee service of thanksgiving after testing positive for Covid, it has been confirmed. Prince Andrew was set to join the wider Royal family at the high-profile event in St Paul’s Cathedral on Friday.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: “After undertaking a routine test The Duke has tested positive for Covid and with regret will no longer be attending tomorrow’s service.”
It is understood Andrew saw the Queen in the last few days but has been undertaking regular testing and has not seen her since he tested positive. In March, he was by his mum's side during a memorial service for the Duke of Edinburgh.

Prince Andrew was not at any of the events today which has kicked off the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Trooping the Colour started proceedings with Prince Charles overseeing the procession instead of his mum.
The monarch’s second son stepped down from public life after the furore over his friendship with paedophile billionaire Jeffrey Epstein. Virginia Giuffre, who was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein, accused him of sexually assaulting her when she was 17.
The duke denied the allegations and agreed to an out of court settlement after Ms Giuffre sued Andrew for £12m.
Royal Family members young and old attended today's ceremony at Horse Guards Parade. After it finished, they returned to Buckingham Palace where they stood on the balcony to wave at thousands of people who had gathered along The Mall and outside the iconic building before watching a RAF flypast.
The Queen was joined by 17 members of the Royal Family on the balcony, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted in the palace, but were not part of the group on the balcony following their controversial departure from royal life.
