Prime Hydration fans on social media have been left confused after they have begun to spot subtle differences on the shape of their bottles.
Those who have been purchasing the viral sports drink recently have been noticing that the bottles are now made with a heavier plastic and have a different base shape.
BirminghamLive reported that many fans have taken to Twitter to express their suspicions over the difference, with some suggesting that it is a way to "spot fakes." However, the slight change in the bottle packaging may be down to a more simple reason.
Others have suggested that the new bottles could be from US manufactured stock that has been imported to meet UK demand.
One Twitter user, known as OverRated Nathan, shared a snap of the two bottles recently and it showed that one of the bottles was a significantly different shape.
Tagging Prime founders Logan Paul and KSI in his tweet, he wrote: "Why are these two bottles different base wise? Is one new? One old?
"Did Prime run out of bottles that week and use a different one for a day? What’s up?" He added: "The left one looks nicer to me personally."
Prime Tracker, an unaffiliated app that lets you know where you can buy Prime, quickly got back to the Twitter user to explain their own theory.
They said: "We don't know for sure! Our theory is that they're US manufactured UK stock, imported to help supply the demand.
"After they rightfully made a big deal about the new 10% less plastic bottles, it'd be odd to revert to heavy US bottles.Much prefer the left bottle though, ngl [not gonna lie]."
Other Twitter users have also been responding with their own theories on why the bottle shape is different, with many divided on whether it was a fake or a US import.
One tweeted: ""Fake [thumbsup emoji]."
Another agreed: "One on the left is fake bro."
While a third added: "The right one I believe was manufactured in Amsterdam, double check the side of the bottle where it mentions the manufacturer and it should say something about Amsterdam."
A fourth said: "Different base, because 1 is the uk bottle and the other is the American bottle."
