Pride for nurses, as they get 'officer' tag in Rajasthan

JAIPUR: In a notification issued on May 4, the department of personnel has directed that from now onwards, nurses at government hospitals will be designated as nursing officers. As per the notification, the Governor of Rajasthan amended the Rajasthan Medical and Health Subordinate Service Rules for re-designating nurses as nursing officers.

"According to the notification, nurse grade II will be called nursing officers and nurse grade I will be known as senior nursing officer," said Purshottam Kumbhaj, state president, the nursing teachers' association of India.
