One of the best parts about summer is heading to the coast for a wee fish supper and a wander in the sunshine.
While many of us will be heading east to Berwickshire and the likes of Eyemouth, North Berwick and Dunbar, it might be worth heading over the bridge to the Kingdom of Fife, according to recent research.
That's right, travel booking website, Omio, has revealed the seaside towns around the UK with the tastiest fish and chip dishes ahead of the National Fish and Chip Day (June 2) celebrations and one of the top 10 can be found on the East Neuk.

Using TripAdvisor data, the research ranked UK location based on the number of fish and chip shops, the average rating and the average number of reviews, and Pittenweem was picked out in the eighth spot, joining the likes of Plockton, St Ives and Portmeirion.
The picturesque little Highland village of Plockton beat out the famous St Ives to be crowned the location with the best fish and chips. Situated on a sheltered bay with crystal-clear water, Plockton is known for its Highland atmosphere and spectacular settings.
Pittenweem, which was also recently named one of the top trending scenic Scottish beauty spots for travel in 2023, lies just an hour and a half drive from the capital, is a historic fishing village characterised by colourful boats bobbing in the harbour and pretty streets lined by cottages with crow-stepped gables.
You can grab a delicious fish and chips while watching the sun go down from the harbour.
