Pret A Manger workers could be in line for fourth pay rise in little more than a year

The CEO of coffee chain Pret A Manger says he is considering a fourth payrise in little more than a year for his employees as the cost-of-living crisis continues to bite. Pano Christou made the revelation just days after the company announced a third payrise in 12 months for its employees.

Last week, Pret confirmed a three per cent increase from April 1 for more than 7,800 UK shop staff. That means its average base pay will have increased by 19 per cent in 12 months.

Despite that, as inflation remains stubbornly high. However, he did warn that price rises may also follow.
